Confederate Railroad first rolled onto the national country music scene in the early 90s with its unique style and sound.

Headed by founder and frontman Danny Shirley, the former backup band for both David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck got their big break by signing with Atlantic Records. The first single from their debut album (“Confederate Railroad”) was “She Took It Like A Man”. It went to No. 26.

The second album, “Notorious”, produced one of the group’s most popular songs “Daddy Never Was the Cadillac Kind” which became a No. 1 video as well. This album would sell more than one million copies.

The band plays 100 or so dates each year. Shirley, the lead singer and vocalist, and his mates, Mark Dufresne on drums, Mo Thaxton on bass and vocals, Rusty Hendrix on lead guitar and Joey Recker on keyboards and vocals are obviously having fun right along with their audience. At the end of each show, the band stays around until every fan who wants an autograph, or to pose with the group for a picture or just say “hello” is taken care of.

TCRXP

Friday, October 5 at 7:30 p.m. – West Main Stage

TCRXP is the creation of Loudonville resident Tim Cowan. Having spent over a decade in various bands throughout West Virginia and Ohio, he stepped away from traditional garage-based groups, in order to focus on online collaborations with other artists, and to work on solo material while developing his own unique style to the two-man band approach.

TCRXP seamlessly blends elements of rock, metal, punk, political themes, progressive rock and light alternative while adding layers of electronics, sequencing & sampling along the way. This project takes inspiration from artists like Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, System Of A Down, Bad Religion and many others. Hired drummer, Zackary Foust, brings his years of percussion experience, from the rock and metal scene, to fill out the power duos rhythm section. For only two people being on stage, expect a full sound, easily on par with that of a three or four piece band.

A set of self-recorded releases are planned, spring and summer 2018, to highlight some of TCRXP’s emerging sound, to be followed by Ohio show dates. Additional information can be found at www.facebook.com/tcrxp
